Protozoa, Anemones and Jellyfish by Jason Hackenwerth

Amazing NYC based artist Jason Hackenwerth creates some massively amazing creatures. He received his MFA from Savannah college of Art and Design in Painting and ballooning was just something he liked to do for fun. After moving to NYC he became desperate and began creating his organic instillation in the subways to get exposure. Jason was eventually arrested but not before the organizer of the scope art fair saw his them and commissioned him to create a piece. He often hires people well versed in the ballooning industry , clowns etc. to help him create his masterpieces. The instillations of course have a shelf life given balloons eventually deflate, accidentally get popped and so forth but he's ok with that and accepts it as part of the experience. His pieces adorn people as well as gallery walls all over the world. visit Jason's website

James Fowler Paintings

I came across these amazing paintings by James Fowler this afternoon. The chaotic and simultaneous balance of these aerial images are blowing my mind. Fowler tries to capture the motion and energy of the cities and urban spaces he depicts as aerials in his paintings. They are reminiscent of the painter Mondrain and make me wonder if Mondrain's paintings would have been affected in a manner such as this if he were blindsided the bombardment of technology we are accustom to. It always amazes me the extent to which our environment and experiences influence art and how different people choose to express it. I love Everything about Fowler's work. Beautiful. Remeniscent of Beauty Lost

Through the energy of this crashing wave piece I'm reminded of the beauty that is lost daily as a result of the disastrous oil spill on the gulf of Mexico. I only have prayers and love for those affected negatively by this tragedy and hope that our beautiful earth that so many take for granted is able to regenerate and recoup the nastiness we have inflicted upon her.
